Opening the Nuvi and replacing a broken/damaged display.

Add Note Edit Step 1 — Rear Cover  ¶ 

  • Remove the sticker from the bottom of the device in order to gain access to the two screws behind.

Add Note Edit Step 2  ¶ 

  • Remove the two screws from the bottom of the case using a T5 Torx screwdriver.

Add Note Edit Step 3  ¶ 

  • Be careful when opening the nuvi. Using too much force may crack the plastic case.

    • The power switch is held in place by the casing and will come loose once the device is opened. Make sure not to lose the switch.

  • Wedge an iPod opening tool into the seam between the two halves of the plastic case.

  • Apply pressure until the back of the case begins to lift away.

    • There are 2 points that will require pressure on each side of the nuvi.
