PowerShot G7 X Mark II LCD Screen Replacement

What you need

  1. PowerShot G7 X Mark II LCD Screen Replacement, LCD Screen: step 1, image 1 of 1
    • Use a Philips #000 screwdriver to remove the three 2mm screws on the bottom of the LCD screen.

  2. PowerShot G7 X Mark II LCD Screen Replacement: step 2, image 1 of 1
    • Tilt the LCD screen all the way up and use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the three 4mm screws from the back of the LCD screen.

  3. PowerShot G7 X Mark II LCD Screen Replacement, Remove back panel from LCD screen: step 3, image 1 of 1
    • Use a spudger tool to release the ribbon cable from the ZIF connector.

    • The cable is thin and delicate. Detach with care.

    • Gently pry off the screen until the double-sided tape behind the back panel gives in.

  4. PowerShot G7 X Mark II LCD Screen Replacement: step 4, image 1 of 1
    • The screen is detached and can now be replaced.

Are there any problems with the replacement screen? It’s a touch screen, just making sure the functionality of the screen is still intact.

These directions do not give enough information. The screed is glued into the frame. The replacement parts do not come with the circuit board.

Did you successfully replace the screen? I took off the screws, and got to the detaching the wire stage but then discovered as you said “the glue”. Any further insight would be appreciated!
