Add Note Edit Step 1 — Digitizer  ¶

  • The edge of the digitizer has a 8 Centimeter frame around it that is held down by a thick strip of glue. Carefully heat the edge of the digitizer continuously and use a razor blade or opening tool to loosen the glue from the frame. There are no cables to tear but be careful not to damage the LCD. Mark a 7 CM reference on your opening tool to avoid scratching or cracking the LCD.

Add Note Edit Step 2  ¶

  • This is what the digitizer looks like once it has been removed. The cable on the bottom left of the picture is the flex cable for the digitizer, it is only glued on to the frame and can be cut if you are replacing the digitizer.

  • The black glue strip is easily removable and most replacement digitizers will come with the glue strip pre-installed making installation fairly easy. Be sure to line up the new digitizer with the frame and camera to insure proper fitment.
