How to remove the floppy disk drive from the PowerBook 3400

You can easily remove the floppy drive in order to repair or upgrade it.

Add Note Edit Step 1 — Battery  ¶ 

  • Close the screen and turn the PowerBook over. Orient the computer so the text of the label is right side up.

  • Press and hold the button on the left of the front side and slide the battery out.

Add Note Edit Step 3 — Floppy Disk Drive  ¶ 

  • First, slide the switch on the back of the computer to the left.

  • Then pull the floppy drive out of the computer.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
