In this guide, we will give you step-by-step instructions on how to remove the logic board so that it can be replaced or repaired.

Add Note Edit Step 1 — Back Cover  ¶ 

  • Remove the memory stick from the camera.

  • Remove the batteries from the camera.

Add Note Edit Step 2  ¶ 

  • Remove all six 4.3mm silver screws along the perimeter of the camera using the Phillips #00 screwdriver.

  • There is one screw hidden under the AV cover that also needs to be removed.

Add Note Edit Step 3  ¶ 

  • Pry the back cover from the left side of the camera. Remove the cover gently.

Add Note Edit Step 4 — Front Cover  ¶ 

  • Pry back the front cover of the camera starting from the right side.

Add Note Edit Step 5 — LCD Screen  ¶ 

  • Remove the tape on the right side of the LCD screen.

  • Gently lift the LCD screen from its base.

  • Don't tug on the screen because it is still connected to the logic board.

  • Lift the black latch connecting the LCD ribbon to the logic board.

  • Gently pull the LCD ribbon out.

Add Note Edit Step 7 — Lens  ¶ 

  • Remove the 6 screws anchoring the LCD base to the logic board using the Phillips #00 screwdriver.

  • Remove the LCD base plate.

Add Note Edit Step 8  ¶ 

  • Lift the black latch connecting the LCD ribbon to the logic board.

  • Gently pull the lens ribbon out.
