This guide will walk through replacement of the California Mobile Phone's pull-out antenna.

Use this guide to replace the pull-out antenna through the back of the device.

If you already installed the motherboard, skip to step 4.

Add Note Edit Step 1 — Antenna  ¶ 

  • Remove the battery by sliding it down the rails to which it is connected.

  • Find a flat head or Phillips head screwdriver.

  • Insert the screwdriver into the holes in the plastic rod connecting the key pad guard to the rear casing.

  • Use the screwdriver to push the rods towards each other until they click out of their locked position.

    • Note: This may require a large amount of force.

  • Slide off the antenna guard and locate the four clips on the exterior of the ear casing.

  • Simultaneously push the clips outward while lifting the rear casing and keyguard away from the front casing.

  • Locate and unplug the black component of the old antenna from the motherboard.

  • Under the black component should be a blue component. Unscrew this component in order to free the antenna.

  • Slide the antenna out of the green tubing.

  • If replacement is needed, also slide the old green tubing out of it's corresponding hole on the motherboard.

  • Insert the new green tubing into the slot provided on the motherboard.

  • Insert the antenna into the green tubing.

  • Screw the blue piece of antenna into the threaded hole on the motherboard until it is snug.
