Replace the speaker in the lower right of the console

The Gameboy color is a wonderful handheld, and a lot of the fun comes from the retro sounds. if your Gameboy color has suffered a speaker malfunction(mine got left in the rain :( and died) this is how to fix it and get back to Super Mario Bros. Deluxe!

Add Note Step 1 — Speaker  ¶ 

  • Take out the cartridge and batteries if there are any, very simple

  • now to remove the 6 triwing screws from the rear of the handheld

  • if you cant find a triwing a small flathead will work

  • Though it may seem like you can get to the speaker now, its still inaccessible

  • you still need to remove three phillips head screws and lift the logicboard

  • now simply desolder the old speaker and solder the new one in place
