This guide will show you how to remove and replace the cooling fan.

First you must remove the hinge cover than keyboard lower case and finally have access to the cooling fan.

Add Note Edit Step 1 — Battery  ¶ 

  • Remove battery from the bottom of the laptop.

  • For more complete instruction see, Installing Dell Inspiron 9100 Battery.

  • It is important to remove the battery so further disassembly will be safer.

Add Note Edit Step 2 — Cooling Fan  ¶ 

  • Remove the screws on the top right of the bottom of the laptop.

  • Once screws are removed, the fan can easily be slid out of its position.
