Introduction

If you need to replace the motherboard inside of the earbud, this guide will demonstrate how to get into the earbud itself and access it.

What you need

  1. Heyday True Wireless Earbuds 8204 Earbud Motherboard Replacement, Earbud Motherboard: step 1, image 1 of 1

    • Use a spudger or a pick and insert it into the small hole on the back side of the earbuds. Use it to pry the two halves of the earbud apart gently.

    • Don't use a screwdriver to pry the device as the delicate internal components are just inside the earbud.

    • Use a spudger to lift the motherboard out of the earbud gently. This should reveal the backside of the motherboard.

    • The motherboard is connected to speaker cables so don't pull the motherboard out yet.

    • The motherboard and other components can be damaged using tools such as a screwdriver or metal spuder to pry. Use ESD safe tools like a spudger or opening tool instead.

    • Now on the backside of the motherboard, detach the small red and black wires attached on the speaker to the motherboard using a spudger.
