this is not the headset jack. Headset/headphones etc are connected using a multi-pin adaptor cable on the 'click in' long strip connector. The socket on left of picture is actually for POWER IN / CHARGER.

Add Note Edit Step 1 — Battery  ¶ 

  • To access the battery you must remove the back cover. Press the tab on the bottom of the cover in so that the back cover plate can slide over it.

  • Now slide the back cover off of the phone.

  • Once the backplate is removed, look to the bottom-left corner of the phone where there is a spot to remove the battery.

  • Use your finger to lift the battery out.

  • The e61i uses a Nokia BP-4L standard battery.

Add Note Edit Step 4 — Front Cover  ¶ 

  • Remove the four screws securing the front cover to the rest of the phone using a T7 screwdriver.

  • After the screws have been removed, there is nothing else securing the front cover to the rest of the phone. Simply remove the cover by pulling it up and off.

Add Note Edit Step 6 — Display  ¶ 

  • After casing and keyboard have been taken off, remove the screws holding the screen in place using a T-6 for the screws in the middle of the red circles and a T-5 for the screw in the middle of the red square.

  • Lift ribbon off of the contact with the logic board

  • *When reassembling, make sure to firmly press contacts into place to ensure a connection is made between ribbon and logic board

  • Once the screws are out, gently pull the screen off of the phone. *NOTICE* The sticker that attaches the display (in the middle of the blue square again) and the logic board is to be removed safely and be sure not to rip this apart.

  • Finally, pull the silver case off to completely free the cracked or damaged screen.

Add Note Edit Step 8 — Logic Board  ¶ 

  • Finally, after the screen and keyboard have been taken off, there is nothing securing the logic board to the rest of the phone. Simply pull the green logic board from the back casing.

  • Once free from the back of the phone, the logic board can be replaced by a new one.
