Upgrades ¶ 

There are a number of components in the PowerBook G4 Aluminum 12" 867 MHz that can be cost effectively upgraded.

• Optical Drive: The optical drive can be upgraded fairly easily. You can upgrade to a combo drive or 8x SuperDrive. If you're sure you don't need to burn DVDs, a combo drive will suffice, while the SuperDrive will allow you to burn DVDs as well as CDs. Identification and Background ¶ 

Released in January 2003, the PowerBook G4 Aluminum 12" 867 MHz was the among the earliest versions of the Aluminum G4 lineup. Early models utilized inferior USB 1.1 ports and a single analog mini-VGA port for video output.
