Identification and Background

The Apple TV was Apple's attempt to make the content they have on iTunes more accessible for users who wished to play the videos and movies on their television set. The Apple TV wirelessly syncs with the user's iTunes, allowing the user to listen to their entire music library on their television speakers. It also allows you to watch any movies or TV shows on your television.

The Apple TV also provides the user with access to the iTunes store, allowing them to make purchases from the convenience of the couch. The Apple TV will then sync back with your desktop iTunes, updating your computer with any purchases made on your TV.

The Apple TV was Apple's attempt at making their content accessible on more than just the iPod and iPhone. They wanted to give consumers more options as to where they can use their purchases, since many critics claimed that the lack of accessibility to iTunes purchases was one of iTunes' main faults.
