    • Turn off the printer.

    • Remove all paper and CD/DVD tray.

    • Disconnect power from wall socket.

    • Disconnect USB cord from printer.

    • Use a soft brush to clean the sheet feeder.

    • If there are ink spots or dirt on the inside of the printer, use cloth to clean the plastic area shown.

    • Use cloth to clean the plastic parts and metal bar.

    • Try not to touch the roller gears.

    • Clean off any dust on the plastic tray.

Thank you! my wonderful printer now prints every line in my Word.docx docs once again. I had no trouble with photo printing, but couldn’t print a letter without losing a few line - and a picture with regular printing with it would have lines streaking through it in blue! Now she works again - my wonderful 1400 workhorse!

Thanks for the tip! My poor girl is OLD, but fantastic.
