2006-2013 Lexus IS 250 Low Beam Headlight Bulb Replacement

Introduction

Low-beam headlights help you see the road clearly at night or in bad weather without blinding other drivers, ensuring safe and comfortable driving.

Driving with burnt low-beam headlight bulbs will result in traffic stops and also lead to a higher risk of an accident occurring.

This guide will go over the steps needed to replace the low-beam headlight bulb in a 2006–2013 Lexus IS250.

Before you begin, turn off the car, put it in park, and engage the emergency brake.

What you need

    • Pull the hood release in the lower left of the driver's side of your car.

    • Lift the hood of your car until it stays up on its own.

    • Use any size flathead screwdriver to remove the screw plugs that are holding down the engine cover.

    • Remove the bottom engine cover.

    • Use a 1/4" flathead screwdriver to remove the screw holding down the top engine cover.

    • Remove the side engine cover.

    • Use a 10 mm wrench to remove the washer fluid tube.

    • Locate the headlight bulb's cover.

    • Push the metal bar down to release the cover.

    • Remove the bulb cover.

    • Twist the headlight bulb cap counterclockwise (1/4 turn) to detach.

    • Push the metal clips inward to release the headlight bulb.

    • Pull the bull out of the socket.

    • Insert the new headlight bulb.

    • Make sure not to touch the glass part with your hands. This can cause a hot spot on the bulb, making it burn out faster. Use gloves to avoid oil and salt transfer to the bulb.
