Hi,
I just bought a new 20GB HD from iFixit for my first gen iPod. I connected it and after some trying iTunes recognized the ipod and offered to restore it. Sadly, at the end of the restore process it errors out with error 1429. The new HD also makes a clicking sound during the process.
I tried erasing the hard disk with disk utility, but it gets stuck forever on "partitioning".
Is the new Hard Drive bad? Is it the iPod itself?
Any suggestions are welcome.
