Put something heavy on the screen? Shove it in a crowded bag? Sounds like damage to the sides of the display.

no its inside its own compartment case. The odd thing is that it will fully come on or it wont and just restart itself.

Hello machead3,

I carry my laptop in a crowded backpack to school every day. Recently, I have started seeing the wavy lines as described by ALX. They are usually in the upper half of my screen. They go away by themselves after a while or after I push against display side of the screen.

Do you recommend replacing the entire screen?

Connect to an external display - ''if the problem shows up there its the VGC (Video Graphics Chip). If it doesn't then the problem could be the LCD/LED''' as there is circuitry down the sides of the display... pressing=fix means repairing a short in that connection.

Good Luck,

N.
