My MacBook's spare ribs...

Reply by Tafufu

Hi, there ! :)

I would need help (if possible).

I have my Macbook disassembled for cleaning the dust, everything went well, not a screw is missing, and it works very well.

But there are four small gray plastic shims, about 2.5 cm by 3 mm that fell when I opened, and I don't know "where" I have to replace them.

I've taken a photo, so I can post them (if someone can tell me how to include a picture in a thread) : it would surely be easier to identify them.

I've already watched a few tutorials of dismantling, but I do not find such small pieces.

In fact, I don't know where to look, or what's the key-word...

Since the MacBook works flawlessly, they're not of vital parts, but well ! ...this is not a reason to leave my Mac in this situation.

A big thank to you if you can help me or lead me to a track.

Have a good day...

They go in the bottom case above the the optical drive opening, they hold the top case in place,

theres a photo of the clips in place.

Hi, Matthew ! :)

Thanks !

Meanwhile, I found a tutorial where they show these little "tabs", (here : http://macbookprosurgery.blogspot.com/) ; then, I'm going to re-open the Mac and replace them..

Thank you again !

^^
