Hey all new to the forum. I just had my second 17" PPC G5 iMac lose a logic board (via Genius Bar diagnosis). The older one is 2 Ghz and the iSight version is 1.9 Ghz. I would love to repair both but with logic boards running $399 up to $700 or so it just doesn't seem to make financial sense since I"m running Adobe's suite. Any thoughts, recommendations

A lot of these IMac's and EMac's had problems with the capacitors on the logic board. Inspect your logic board for swolen and leaking capacitors if found replace all of them. You can buy them from "TheCapKing (through Yahoo! Store Order System)" <orders@store.y

The isight G5 did not have the capacitor problems, most of the time they die from bad video cards on the board. I have 3 17" isight g5's in my garage like that - not worth fixing, something new with a warranty is money well spent in the long run.
