There are several posts about how to deal with liquid damage. The big issues are:
Remove power immediately stops shorts (plugs and batteries)
Remove excess liquid stops more damage starts recovery process.
Let it dry before using! (72hrs air dry open) avoids shorts
No forced air into closed boxes! stops spread of liquids around inside where you can't see it, increasing damage
Clean it before drying stops corrosion if it's working now is not a free pass on cleaning corrosion builds over time and can/will short parts doing permanent damage.
Contact cleaner, 99% alcohol, and desiccants are all helpful tools.
