keyboard connector iBook G4 1.07 Ggh PowerPC

Reply by Alex

I have an iBook G4 which used to be 800Mhz and I have upgraded it to the 1.07Ghz by replacing the old dead logic board with the new one.

Everything worked fine, but unfortunately I think the logic board which I have installed is from the 14" iBook so the keyboard connector from the keyboard that I have does not fit into the socket.

Any idea where I can find a keyboard connector only that would fit the logic board which is identified by 820-1606-A?

Can I install this connector on the keyboard cable from 12" mac?

I have a couple of pictures of the logic-board socket and keyboard connector but unfortunately it is not possible to attach them here.

Sincerely

Alex

There was no ibook G4 800mhz 14" only 12" so I don't understand how you could install a 14" motherboard in a 12" case.

All the iBook G4 have the same keyboard connector but the 12" and 14" keyboard are differents. The 14" keyboard has a longer cable so you can install a 14" keyboard on a 12" ibook but no way to install a 12" keyboard on a 14" ibook. It is also possible to install a ibook G3 keyboard on a ibook G4, they also have the same connector.

Hi thank you for the answer! However I now have a logic board inside of my iBook G4 12" with a connector that does not match the connector of the original keyboard. I've been looking on the internet and it identifies my logic board as late 2004.

So any idea how to identify the keyboard connector of the keyboard and how to find a keyboard that would fit in?
