early Macbook with upgraded wirelss 'n' card. Not working under snow leopard

Hi everyone,

I have a huge pain going on with my MacBook CoreDuo 1.83Ghz. We have recently upgraded our internet to 50mb and therefor i felt it necessary to upgrade my macbook so that i could utilise the new speeds.

I purchased a compatible wireless 'N' card to replace my wireless 'G' card. I followed all of the instructions found on this website. Everything went really good, i rebooted and the wireless card seemed to work. It connected to my wireless network and everything seemed ok. Then it started playing up, being really slow, sometimes not connecting until eventually it did not connect at all. I have searched through many forums regarding this issue, and have done all of the suggested fixes but nothing seems to work.

I have tried,

- changing my location settings

- fixed IP address and DNS server setting on the router and Macbook

- changing the router to only 'N' broadcast

- Delete all setting involving the wireless network

- I have even reinstalled Snow Leopard.

None of these hace worked so i decided to out my old wireless 'G' card back in. Everything is working like it used to but i would like to be able to out the "n' card in. If anyone has any suggestions i would be so grateful.

Thanks in advance

Robert

The Core 2 Duo has a wireless chipset that supports 802.11n; the Core Duo doesn't.
