I need to replace the right fan in my MacBook Pro 17" 2.6 GHz (Penryn), Model# A1261.
Although there are iFixit Guides for earlier 17" MacBook Pros, no iFixit Guides are currently available for fan replacements in Model# A1261.
The description of the right fan replacement in the EARLIER guides looks straight forward enough and is termed of "moderate" difficulty. I've had both laptops and desktops apart many times in the past and would feel competent to succeed with those installations.
However, in the description of the right fan for Model# A1261 (my Mac) the replacement is termed "difficult". Does anyone have any insight as to what challenges I would encounter in replacing the right fan in Model# A1261 that are not covered in the earlier guides? Why is A1261 fan replacement described as "difficult", as opposed to the earlier "moderate" in the previous models?
