@ifixit.com: what type of camera do you usually use

Flag Reply by grze Nov 6 @ 6:37 PM

I was wondering about that for a long time...I remember the guitar string replacement guide which you used the canon powershot camera, like s400 or something like this, but these were not the same quality pictures than you usually have...

So please, reveal your secret! Which digital camera do you use and with which lens (if it's a dslr)

Thanks,

Greg

Check this out: http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/image-metadata/UZQRO2ARtsvgaDkP

It's the Metadata page for the Intel iMac 27" layout photo, found on step 1: http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/iMac-Intel-27-Inch/1236/1

This is a new feature that lets anyone and everyone look at the picture data on iFixit.

However, to answer your question more directly, we use a Nikon D90 with the kit lens :)

I must be blind or something because I see only this:

Basic

* File: UZQRO2ARtsvgaDkP

* Type: Source

* Size: 3200x2400

* Ratio: 4:3

And I tried to download some random files and check the exif but was empty :/

Anyway, thanks for the info...So that's what 18-105 VR can produce :)

I asked because I need to create a similar photo environment, but I guess that it also depends on your lighting conditions...

Thanks!

No, you're not blind. We edit our photos with Photoshop Elements, which I guess strips some of the information from the picture. Sorry about that.

But you're right -- lights make all the difference. With good lighting, you can take pictures with a point-n-shoot and get results similar to those with the D90.
