Ok dumb me. I repaired my PB G4 with a new DC in-board and a new case. After finishing repairs i accidently put in wrong disc and cannot eject disc from the optical drive. It is not the start up disc and i cant get it out and am trying to NOT take the whole thing apart again but will if i have to. Any quick remedies anybody knows of?

You can check the screws that you installed under the keyboard (just on top of the optical drive) if they are too long they will prevent the PowerBook from ejecting the CD. That is what happened to me. You really have to be careful that you put in the right length of screw. If it is just a little bit too long the CD will insert easily but when trying to eject it will catch on the screw (particularly the center one, the ones on each end aren't as critical) and get stuck. Try removing just the center screw. I'll bet that you will then be able to eject the CD.

When i repaired the comp i needed to boot up the computer with my startup disc because it wouldnt get past the blue screen with the apple logo on it. My son put a movie dvd in it while i was out and now i cant eject it. i tried powering it up and holding the mouse pad down (it is supposed to eject but didnt) I was wondering if there were any other tricks to eject the disk without taking it apart?
