MacBook Pro 17" display data cable - how to detatch

Reply by saneltop

I'm on my way into replace a 2.33 GHz/Santa Rosa Right Fan.

The repair pages don't give a clue about taking the display data cable off -and- the last thing I want to do is break it.

Can't find it in this forum or online. Did find a similar connector that says it flips up so the cable can be removed.

Anybody?

it slides out - away from its "receptacle" - I suggest a nylon probe tool aka "black stick - to push it out by the metal points on the sides of the cable.
