1TB Hard Drive upgrade for MacBook Pro 17" Santa Rosa (A1229)

Hi,

I have a Santa Rosa MacBook Pro and am thinking of upgrading to 1TB Western Digital model # WD10TEVT. The western digital sight states this:

*750 GB and 1 TB models are 12.5 mm high and may not be compatible with all notebook systems. Consult system specifications for maximum allowable drive height before attempting to install.

I was wondering if anybody knows if my MacBook Pro will be able to accommodate this drive.

yes, a 17" macbook pro will accommodate these, a 15" or macbook will not, they can only take 9.5mm drives.
