I have an ibook g3 / 600 that I still use for audio stuff. I run the headphone out jack into a stereo receiver. All of a sudden the jack has stopped turning off the internal speakers and has no output through the external wire. Is this a jack issue where the connector is not doing it's job or is it much more serious, like processor? Thanks!

Could be the internal audio socket that's having a problem. That means a motherboard issue cause the audio socket is soldered to the motherboard and cannot be replaced. But here's a good solution, just buy a iMic. It's a USB dongle ($25) that gives you IN/OUT audio ports with a better audio quality.
