Daughter spilt liquid on my macbook and ruined some keys on the keyboard and caused a problem with the power button. The power issue was resolved but the track pad is not working. The track pad connector is connected is anything else that I can try before I send the unit back?

Well if the connector is connected it would seem the part itself is broken. Does the rest of the functionality remain? If so, you need a new front, if not so a new logic board.
