HALP! 60g 5th gen iPod newly installed battery, & still won't hold a charge...

Reply by jacquemox

I used a kit purchased from here, and replaced the battery for my 5th gen 60gig iPod. It turns on, and can stay on for a few songs... but crashes after that. I cannot get the battery to charge. I've left it plugged in for hours, and still won't go past "red" on the battery icon.

Perhaps I made a mistake installing the battery... but if that's true, why would the iPod turn on at all when not connected to a power source? Any ideas??

thanks :)

Hi

i would open the iPod again, and take a look at the battery connector. Maybe the cable doesn´t fit straight in the connector. The connector itself is really frail, as i once tried to open the connector it broke of the mainboard. Maybe your is partly broken of and now the cable isn´t connected properly. To fix theat i used a little bit of super glue and glued the connector back in place.

Hi,

if you dropped your iPod and the hard drive makes a clicking noise, its quiet clear that your hard drive is damaged plus it seems that your display is also damaged.
