iPod Classic 80gb reboots continuously in a loop

Reply by lcxor

My iPod 80gig classic reboots over and over. I tried various tips i found on the internet from restoring, booting to diag mode..etc but nothing helped. I could hear the HDD click when it would reboot and just display on the screen "use iTunes to restore".

Thinking it was the HDD, I ordered a new HDD from iFixit, and replaced it, but it's still doing the same thing, stuck in a reboot loop? Could it be the logic board?

What do I do now?

thanks

Hi,

what happens if you connect it to iTunes, is the iPod recognized? If not, i would try to disconnect the HDD and turn it on again. If it keeps rebooting without a HDD connected, i would suggest that the logic board might be the problem.
