PBG4 Aluminum 17" 1.33 won't start after hard drive install

Reply by rebelyelloz

Nothing, no click, no dice.

I installed a new 320GB hard drive and a new upper case. everything was working fine. I thought I may have broken the keyboard ribbon or the trackpad ribbon, but i opened everything back up and put the original upper case and hard drive back and still nothing. Any suggestions besides "you're effed?"

Start from the beginning. 1. Do you have power from the wall socket to the business end of the power plug going into the PB? Does the PB chime? Is the PB's battery charged? I would suspect a power cable from the battery to the computer logic board isn't plugged in, or needs to be examined for a broken pin/ connector issue. Just my 2 cents worth. Hope that helps.

Maybe the damage was done to the keyboard/trackpad socket on the motherboard that also gives the power to the logicboard when you push on the power button.

Define nothing .

FWIW There's a partition limit on G4 they can't read more than 128GB without a 3rd party app to adjust that. Not to worry just partition the drive so that no partition is larger than 128GB.
