my 1st Gen, 16GB touch got a nice drop one day, landed flat on the screen. no scratches or broken glass luckily.

since then, when you power it on, it shows the iTunes icon, with the USB cable graphic.

when i plug it in, iTunes says something about it being corrupted and needing restore.

when you restore, once the bar fills up, it just stays there. i've left it for hours and to no avail.

what can i do? i'm an iFixIt newbie.
