Powerbook G4 Keeps Going to Sleep

Flag Reply by axl1972 Mar 4 @ 5:47 AM

I have a 17" PB G4 and it keeps going to sleep (sometimes within a few seconds of getting it back out of sleep). I have verified all the Power Settings and they are set for the screen to sleep after 15 minutes and the computer to never sleep. My computer has gone to sleep at least 2 dozen times in a matter of 10 minutes.

Help?!?!?!

try removing the battery and pluging it into the AC adaptor, if it still goes into sleep, than you may want to look into removing the "Ambient Light Sensors" or thats what i think that they're called. This is a very complicated process, but removes the sensors that can tell when the laptop is closed, sometimes, these fail, causing the laptop to think that it is closed and going into sleep mode, even though it is open.

I'm assuming that the computer never sleeps (hardrive and etc) but have you tried setting the screen to never sleep?
