iPod 3G worth fixing?

Reply by mwenvironments

I have an old iPod 3G that won't power on. Probably just needs a new battery. The question I have - is it worth fixing? Will it even work with the New Itunes?

I don't want to bother if the hardware is so old I have no practical way of making use of it.

Thanks

Mark

I'm pretty sure it will work with new itunes. It's up to you whether or not it is worth your time, but if it's between having an ipod that works and having an ipod that doesn't work, I'd go with an ipod that works, especially for something as inexpensive as a battery replacement.

Thanks for getting back to me Sterling. I Actually have a 6th gen iPod Classic and a 2nd gen iPod touch so don't really "have to" fix it, but I may want to try to fix it to give to someone who does not have one. I may give it a try.

Best,
