Recently while connecting external speakers to my macbook, the top of the jack plug of my speakers broke off. It's stuck inside my audio port and there is no way to get it out. Because it is stuck in there my macbook thinks there is an external audio output (speakers, headphones) connected, and therefor it blocks my macbook speakers from working. And since there is nothing connected, just the tip of a jack stuck in there, I am left with no sound on my macbook.
I thought about trying to open up my macbook but then again I think the audio ports are closed so I couldn't just push the thing out from inside. (are they?)
Also people have suggested to super glue something against it and pull it out, but there is no way that the glue will be strong enough for it to be pulled out. Some people suggested using a magnet but I'm afraid that might do damage to my computer. The hole is also too narrow for tweezers or anything like that to pull it out.
I found a few threads on the internet discussing this problem but none seemed to give an actual solution or anyone that successfully resolved this problem.
Does anyone have any other suggestions that might help? I'd rather fix it myself than to send my computer off to apple and pay the repair costs. (I don't expect them to be cheap.. :S)
Thanks
