5th Gen Video Ipod will not restore

Flag Reply by josh85caldwell Jul 6 @ 7:21 AM

My Ipod was working fine until I charged it on a computer at work and had to remove it w/o ejecting the device. Now it says to restore w/ Itunes but it will not. Any suggestions?

You can try putting the ipod in Disk Mode.

*First reset the ipod (central and menu button at the same time)

*right after you reset the ipod you´ll see the ipod´s LCD black, in that moment change the buttons combination (central and play button)

After doing all of that you´ll see that the ipod displays DISK MODE. Connect the ipod to your computer and try restoring with itunes. If you use a Mac you can use the DISK UTILITY to erase the ipod´s drive and then restore with itunes.

Hope this helps!!!

I did it just as you instructed. itunes saw it as an ipod in recovery mode and started the recovery process. Aftert it finished the ipod restarted and went right back to nothing, then itunes saw it as an ipod in recovery mode again... I did this a couple of times with no better results. Any more suggestions?? I'll try anything. Thanks for the post!
