In the how-to for the Ipod Nano gen 3, I misread the directions and "flipped" the connector for the clickwheel "In" instead of "up" and broke the connector.
Am I completely hosed or what?

Well, I am sorry to say that you ARE screwed... Unless you can find a way to keep the ribbon cable in the connector without the lock, then you will need a new logic board... Sorry about the bad news.
