Take a look at Step 6 on our iPhone 3G front panel guide. This ribbon can be tricky and may require disconnecting and reseating to make sure the connection is good. Try to match the picture in Step 6 the best you can and that should solve your issue.

The same with my iPhone. It works fine, only my ear speaker is not working.

I have the exact same problem after replacing the rear back panel casing. Well I triple checked that ribbon #3 is firmly connected. Any ideas?

Funny. Same thing from me. Just replace battery and front screen and ... when I talk on phone, I can barely hear a sound.

I Had The Same Problem .. When i Got into My Phone to Check The Problem, i found The Plastic Covering The Slot Had Snapped Off .. This Means it Wont Stay And i Cant Slot My Ribbon in .. i Think i May Have to Get a Brand new One x

My iPhone 3g speaker's stopped working one day. Not sure if need to replace the speakers and how? I can talk and listen to music and everything if I use headsets.

I can talk to ppl without using headsets too but not on speakers. I don't get any ringtones, songs or any other sound ewithout headsets. Any help?

I am currently having the same problem and have done all the above suggestions. I unplugged and replugged...it doesn't go all the way in...only about half way...is that a problem? I have plugged and unplugged headphones several times too and that isn't working! suggestions?
