The 'card' will fit but not the heat-sink pipe! If you know what you are doing you will have to exchange the heat-sink pipe between both models.

Is it possible to replace stock 8800m GS with non-apple one?

I have a used 8800m GTX from alienware (but i do not know if it is dead or alive) - with it in my iMac screen won't show anything at all...

So i have no ^*#* idea if the alienware GPU is dead, or it is not simply compatible.

Hi Denis Gorodnov, there are many threads about upgrading Video Card.

To what i know, Apple 24 Imac uses graphics cards similar to laptop. It's possible but really hard to find the right one. Up to date, i don't think anyone has done it using a laptop Video Card. Will be pls if anyone can provide the infos too.

I did ask an Apple tech before bout this, he too told me it's possible but will be a rare gem if you find one.
