Replaced iBook G4 hard drive

Reply by manlan

Hi,

just replaced the drive following the excellent instructions on this site. It turns out that the screen doesn't work now; it lights up but shows nothing. If I connect an external monitor to the iBook it works fine so it's only the built in display that's not working. I must have accidently done something I shouldn't while replacing the drive, but I don't know where to start. Do I have to remove all those screws one more time or or far do I have to go in order to reach the cable to the display?

Thanks...

hello manlan,

All signs point to the display data cable being partially or completely disconnected. Double-check that connector, represented by step 41 on the display guide.

Yes, it wasn't connected properly....I had to go all the way back to find out. Thx!
