black macbook with nvidia power

Does anybody know if it is possible to take a black macbook case and replace the white one from the actual white macbook with nvidia graphic card inside without any modifications? or did they changed something at the internal structure during the different revisions from 2006 to now?

looking forward to hearing from you,

Hi Maurice,

There are structural differences, unfortunately. The screw holes through the heat sink and logic board are in a different orientation with the nvidia white MacBooks. Therefore, the lower case of earlier models won't work with the guts from the new one.

Depending on how handy/daring you are, you may be able to modify the black lower case to accommodate the new orientation. Be aware, however, that the screw posts are crucial for grounding in MacBooks. A faulty ground through the screw posts results in the death of the keyboard, trackpad, and USB (painful learning experience for me)!

Good luck!
