Hi,
I have one iPhone that I had suspect a bad or really low battery or over possible over voltage from car charger damaged it. It is possible the dock may not have been seated properly when we connected the car charger. It acted flakey, the screen flashed, and now won't power up or charge. The battery was quite low before I connected it to the car charger. It has been sitting in my draw since I replaced it with a 3G last fall. My other 1st gen iPhone's top 1/3 of touch screen does not work. I can sync, back up, make calls, etc, (other than having to use upper portion of the screen). I am considering using the dead iPhone's display assembly in the iPhone that has the touch screen issue. I think I would follow instructions for installing display assembly. Any advice? Is the power supply, charger and dock separate from display assembly. I could wait a month and buy a new phone. I had found with my iPOD, I needed to reset it my disconnecting the battery, then reconnect it. Could that be the issue with the dead iPhone? Probably not that simple.
thanks
