fn6019 Just noticed that paint on the silver ring surrounding the headphone socket on my iPhone 3g is wearing off a little, right at the top of the socket where it is flush with the black plastic.
Does any one know if this is normal? Is the chrome surround made of plastic or metal?

RepairTech1 Thanks for the Reply as for the Chrome Wearing off is it a Original Part or has it been replaced? As I ask there are a lot of Pieces out there that are Masses Produced and of Cheap quality. Make sure when you purchase repair parts that you Buy of Excellent Quality and OEM from ifixit.com or any other 3rd Party Vendor.
