Manual hard drive extraction: Powerbook g4 17"

Reply by r00dude

17" will not take power and is essentially useless with the exception of the contents of its hard drive. I need to extract the information from the powerbook's hard drive to my new macbook pro laptop or an external hard drive. How should I go about doing this?

Depending on what's wrong with your PowerBook, you could try extracting your data via Target Disk Mode. Details on how to accomplish this are found here.

If this does not work, pull the hard drive from the PowerBook, using this guide, and put it in an external enclosure.
