My Ipod 5th gen 80gb will be recognized by windows when I plug it, in disk mode, into my computer but it won't be recognized in itunes until it resets itself and disconnects. It is also giving me a sad ipod icon when i try to turn it on normally. After it resets and is still connected to the computer it will say please wait very low battery, even though I have let it charge for several hours. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like the Logic Board has given up, I recommend replacing it.

Thanks for the Reply!! Where abouts do you get your Music from? itunes or Cds? If you are Having the Please wait Low Battery that means you have a Bad Hard Drive meaning Replacement. That Repair should only take 1 Hour or Less. Check with ifixit.com if they have a 30gb Hard Drive or what ever your GB is like a 30/60/80GB and so on and get that replaced. We can have that replaced for you, but Check with ifixit.com 1st.
