I'm also utterly halted on a stripped screw problem. I'm at Step 18 during hard drive replacement of http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Repair/Power...-G4-Aluminum-12-Inch-1-1-5-GHz-Hard-Drive-Replacement/548/6. The two Phillips screws holding the hard drive bracket will ~not~ budge, and I've stripped them pretty well during my various attempts to dislodge them. I'm currently suspecting Loctite. (And the project was going pretty well until now...) The screws are too close to flush to get a grip with pliers. I'm considering trying to file a slot in the heads of the screws with a needle file. What's involved with "drilling out" a screw? The hard drive bracket does need to be secured -- does drilling out leave the screw hole usable?
