2/3 of Powerbook Screen is always Grey

My Loyal powerbook G4 screen has been playing around for a while and when i press the left of the screen next to the bezel if comes back but temporarily any help, i called Apple and they told me it would cost £500 to replace i am able to replace the screen myself but is there any other solution

INFO about nvidia graphic card "RECALL"

not sure if that is ur problem or not do not think it is cuz it seems to be for macbook pros

thanks but this isn't it and i am sure that it isn't the graphic card as it work fine on an external monitor

Sounds like the LCD is shot. I had this happen to an older PC laptop I had. I replaced the screen and it worked fine. We sell the lcd's, however we dont have many of the take apart guides for the display assemblies. Depending on the model you have, it may be fairly difficult to get it apart, but probably worth it to save the $717 (£500).
