Removal of Macbook LCD Back Cover

Reply by lkvee

I just read the guide for removing the display on the Macbook. Even though I read the guide for the Core2Duo CPU, I'm presuming the directions are the same for the CoreDuo CPU.

I only want to replace the back cover for the LCD housing/bezel. Reading iFixit's directions makes me wonder - can I achieve the same goal without having to remove the complete display assembly?

Thanks for reading!

It would actually be more difficult to attempt it without completely disassembling it. - the back cover is structural to the display.. its easier to remove the clamshell, transplant the guts.. and reattach..

I did this project and noticed trouble aligning the new lid. I will post new topic as such. Chris

what are you talking about? it's the same as the other and much easier than complete disassembly.

I'm a little lost here but are there instructions available for replacing the display housing/LCD back cover? I can't seem to find any
