I dropped my phone a few days ago and since then the lower 1/3 of the touchscreen does not work. i initially shut it off for a few hours and the section just above the home buttons started to work if I pressed it hard enough. I've had it off for over 24hrs and I'm not able to slide the phone on to answer a call and the home buttons are still not working.
I went to apple and they informed me that it's unfixable as the device is 1 piece and is unable to be opened - he offered replacing it with a refurbished for $199.00. I elected not to buy a new phone wondering if the problem was fixable.
After searching utube, I discovered your site but could not find any troubleshooting guides for my problem.
I'm all for disassemblying my device but I don't know where to attempt to fix the problem - would it be on the logic board?
My phone is just 1 yr old and hoped to keep it for an upgrade for the next generation of iphone.
Please advise.
