Mac Book Pro 2.4 Ghz IC 2 Duo

My child vomited on the Mac Book while it was powered on. Needless to say it stopped working.

After partial disassembly and "clean up" all that happens or doesn't happen is the following:

1. Plugged in shows battery is charged or charging.

2. Power switch pushed on - I can hear the hard drive whine.

3. The Hard Drive light on the front does not come on.

4. No video, the screen remains black.

Any ideas as to what component or components need to be replaced?

Any ideas how to further troubleshoot this Mac?

Thanks,

Try hooking up an external monitor and see if you get anything from that. Most likely it's going to be toast, tho. Every puketop I've worked on turned out to be that way after cleanup.

Hard drive light on the front? There is a sleep light, but Macs don't have hard drive lights.

Do you ever hear the startup "chime"? If not, the logic board may have been damaged by the liquid. Your startup sequence should go like this: grey screen, chime, then a grey apple, then spinning gear, etc. If none of these happens, it's not a good thing.
